The Mobile Crisis Stabilization Team (Westchester County) is a mobile team of clinicians, peers, and subscribers designed to work directly with law enforcement and courts to ensure that people presenting with mental health or substance use issues stay out of the criminal justice system when behavioral health interventions are the more appropriate response.
The Mobile Crisis Stabilization Team provides individuals with immediate engagement, screening and triage, motivational assessments, crisis counseling and de-escalation, peer advocacy & support, bridge prescriptions (if/when needed), and hands-on connections to external preventative services.
“We really want to encourage people to work on their wellness while they are in the community and not have to continuously go back to the emergency department or the psych unit to get what they need to stay well.” – Joleen Darby, Site Director
