Sneak Peek #2 into our Annual Breakfast!

This year, one of our “Stories of Hope” will spotlight the true account of how a mother with three high-needs children repeatedly utilized People USA’s Crisis Stabilization Center. Award-winning playwright Gary Sunshine sat down with the family and turned their interview into a short play. We are so lucky to have been able to lean on his talent to tell this story!

Gary Sunshine is a recipient of a Helen Merrill Award for Playwriting and a NYFA Artist Fellowship in Playwriting. He co-created the documentary What I Want My Words to Do to You (Freedom of Expression Award, Sundance Film Festival; HBO Audience Award, Provincetown International Film Festival) which premiered nationwide on PBS’s P.O.V. He has been a staff writer for HBO’s Hung and CBS’s As the World Turns (WGA Award nomination). An alumnus of New Dramatists, he received an AB from Princeton and an MFA from NYU’s Dramatic Writing Program. He is currently working on his first novel.
